Everyone walks away with a head-turning business idea
Everyone walks away with a head-turning business idea from my innovation and entrepreneurship classes.
I’m incredibly honored to share that I’ve been awarded the SUSS Excellence in Teaching Award 2026, for the third time in a row. But to be completely honest, the accolades aren't what drive me. And they certainly aren't what keep me up at night.
What keeps me awake isn’t the curriculum, not the presentation slide decks, or the stories I’ve prepared to tell. It’s the disconnected few.
The individuals who walk out of the room without a tangible takeaway. How do I reach them, get them excited? How do I flip the switch from passive listening to active, excited engagement? That is the real work. Bridging the gap between knowing and doing.
I have one simple benchmark for success when I step into a classroom, and it isn't the final exam scores. I want every single learner who crosses my path to walk away with a novel, workable, head-turning business idea. Not just a concept that looks pretty on demo day, but something built for the real world.
Because theory fades. But a solid, executable idea that solves a real problem? That's what moves the needle.
A massive thank you to the SUSS leadership, my peers, and—most importantly—my students. You keep me sharp. You constantly challenge the concepts and turn our classroom into a working laboratory rather than a one-way lecture hall.
Let’s keep building.
P.S. Wondering why I had missed the award presentation ceremony, I was exactly working with 7 teams to build their head-turning business ideas in Shenzhen.
